Transparency Project

Welcome to the Ridgecrest Transparency Project!

There are two types of companies in today’s market - those who have nothing to hide and those who do. We want our customers to know exactly what we do, how we do it, and why. That's why we launched the RidgeCrest Transparency Project. This is our effort to make our manufacturing practices as open as possible and to help educate our customers on our products and the ingredients in them.

We're herb nerds at heart and enjoy this project, and we're all looking forward to the positive implications it will have on us, our formulas, and most of all our customers who stand in need of a trusted source of open, truthful information. We will answer the who, what, where, how, and why of each individual ingredient so you can feel confident about what you are putting into your body.

In the coming months, we will be adding information that will help you make informed decisions, explaining the health benefits of individual ingredients, information on our products, sourcing information, and anything else we can think of that you might want to know. We want you to make the best decision you can for your health, and we are confident you will find the answers in our products.

Should you ever have any questions that might not be answered within the beginnings of this project - know that, while we are working for complete transparency, you're more than welcome to ask us any question or for any information!

Growing and Gathering

Taken collectively, our products contain over 200 different herbs. Our goal is to provide information on sourcing, quality, and use for every single herb we use. This project is going to take some time, so please have patience with us.  We are proud of our farmers and gatherers and want to share their amazing stories and the way they positively impact our earth and the sustainability of the future. These stories span the globe and the breadth of the human experience. We look forward to sharing this work with you.

Herbs & Ingredients

Since before the time of snake-oil salesmen, consumers have been hoodwinked, bamboozled, flim-flammed, and otherwise taken in by the sultry voices of the disingenuous. It takes CONSTANT VIGILANCE to ensure that the ingredients in our products are of the highest quality. To protect our customers, we demand our distributors provide samples of every batch of ingredients that go into our products and do our own testing to make sure they meet our standards. We have long-standing relationships of great trust with our manufacturers, but we always go the extra mile to ensure our products are pure, potent, and of good quality. In some cases, we even extract, mill, or otherwise prepare our own ingredients to ensure that they meet our specifications. Eternal vigilance is a critical requirement for creating a quality product.

This section includes information on how we partner with manufacturers and laboratories. We work together to ensure our standards are never compromised. Here you'll find our standards and our process from raw ingredient herbs to the final product. Manufacturing: All facilities that produce RidgeCrest products are carefully selected based on moral and regulatory standards and audited annually by qualified RidgeCrest employees. They are third-party GMP certified by either NSF or UL and some have even more qualifying certifications. Our manufacturers, as well as our facility, have regular visits from the FDA, local food safety, and Board of Health organizations. We choose manufacturing leaders that utilize the latest high-tech equipment and implement the best practices in the industry. They train with the NPA, FDA, and others to keep their facilities and employees current on certifications. Manufacturing includes many steps: sourcing, receiving, testing, weighing, and blending of ingredients; encapsulating and inspecting the capsules; and counting, filling, sealing, capping, and labeling the bottles. Each step utilizes extensive written procedures to comply with FDA-mandated cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) standards. Finally, the completed product is tested AGAIN for identity, potency, and purity before it leaves the manufacturing facility. When the product arrives at our warehouse, a number of ADDITIONAL tests are done to confirm the testing done by the manufacturer. Further testing is done periodically over the shelf-life of the product to be certain that it continues to be potent and pure. Product Storage: RidgeCrest maintains a sufficient storage supply of all RidgeCrest products made so that we can reference, test, or compare any batch necessary. The FDA and other regulatory organizations have access to these storage supplies at any time and are welcome to access samples for testing and review as desired. We have nothing to hide! Partnerships: All of our manufacturers meet or exceed our standards because of the partnerships we have built and established with them. We carefully pick our partnerships and look for those who share like-minded values and principles.

We are often asked whether our products contain Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs). We proudly answer that we never use any kind of GMO material in our products!

Sometimes people want to know whether our products are independently verified or certified as GMO-free. The short answer is that they are not. Profiteers have not yet seen enough of a financial benefit to investing in and changing the natural form of herbs. The crops that have been targeted by the GMO industry so far are major industrial crops. Corn, soybeans, wheat, potatoes, and rice were among the first crops targeted. These crops have a high dollar value to industrial agriculture and they can be sold as annual seeds to farmers. Crops that have not been targeted are not at risk of being tainted with GMO production, and so far no herbal seeds have been altered for mass production.
