Herbs in Intelligut®

Gotu Kola

Also known as Centella Asiatica, Gotu Kola is a traditional Chinese herb that, while lesser-known in Western culture, has a robust amount of scientific research behind it. Traditionally found in the wetlands of Southeast Asia, this herb is called the “herb of longevity” and has some proven medicinal properties that support a balanced inflammatory response. In addition, research supports its potential beneficial use for brain function, memory support, and mental clarity.

Andrographis

Believed to clear heat and resolve toxicity, Andrographis is a common herb in TCM. Scientists around the globe have explored the potential for this herb to support immune function and the body’s natural, healthy state and its capacity to encourage the body’s ability to fight free radicals.

Lemon Balm

This calming herb comes from the Austrian folk medicine tradition. Rich in essential oil, lemon balm is a common ingredient in teas and is used both internally and externally for various health assistance. Part of the mint family, the restful eugenol in the leaves is perfect for addressing a maintained normal stress response.

Ginkgo Biloba

One of the most commonly used Chinese herbs, Ginkgo Biloba has been around since the dinosaurs and is considered a “living fossil” because of how long it has existed. The leaves of the maidenhead tree are most commonly used and are rich in antioxidants, promoting blood flow and a balanced immune response. In addition, it is widely used to support mental clarity, feelings of well-being, and emotional calm.

Probiotics

Bifidobacterium Longum, Bacillus Subtilis DE111®.

Product Description

Most people know that the human brain comprises billions of neurons that transmit information. But did you know that your gut also contains hundreds of millions of neurons? That is why people are beginning to refer to the gut as the “second brain” of the body. Those gut neurons connect to your brain through your nervous system, and the fascinating Vagus nerve plays a crucial role in brain-gut communication. We still have a lot to learn about how this connection affects your health, but we know that taking a synergistic approach to the health of these two systems can have huge benefits.

RidgeCrest Herbals is excited to introduce Intelligut®, a unique product that includes probiotics for gut health and nootropic herbs for brain health, providing these closely-related systems with the support needed to work together better. Intelligut® combines probiotics like Bifidobacterium Longum and Balcillus Subtilis with herbs like Gotu Kola, Ginkgo Biloba, Lemon Balm, and Andrographis. By marrying herbs and probiotics in one product, RidgeCrest Herbals allows our customers to simultaneously support gut and brain health.
