At RidgeCrest Herbals, our people have always driven our success. Here are just a few of them:
Matt Warnock, CEO
Matt has loved edible and medicinal plants from a young age. By age eight or nine, he was eating wild herbs like miners' lettuce, clover, and sorrel, collecting eucalyptus and bay leaves, and developing a love of the outdoors. After getting an AA in French (he lived in Switzerland and France for 5 years), a BA in English, an MBA, and a JD from BYU, he worked as an attorney in California's Silicon Valley before relocating back to Utah in 1998. Matt joined RidgeCrest Herbals as Chief Operations Officer in 2001, to help his father Paul Warnock, who had founded the company in 1994. Matt later became V.P. Marketing in 2003, and President in 2005. He became a shareholder in 2007, and sole owner in 2016, after his father passed away in 2014. Matt holds two issued patents for herbal formulas and methods of manufacture, and leads a team that continues to break new ground in natural remedies. He has three grown daughters, two of which are also involved in the business, representing the third generation of the RidgeCrest family. In his spare time, he still enjoys hiking, camping, reading, writing, and learning about herbs.
Will Christensen, President
Will was practically raised in health food stores, and ultimately managed one for several years. Then, after a couple of years selling nutrients and other ingredients to nutraceutical manufacturers, Will joined RidgeCrest 2007 as National Sales Manager, became Chief Marketing Officer in 2013, and President in 2017. Will lives north of Salt Lake with his wife Melissa and four kids, where he loves the outdoors, and has a special appreciation for trees. His Sequoia is the envy of the whole neighborhood. He enjoys spending time in the yard with his kids, koi fish, and dog.
Brittini Gehring, Chief Botanical Officer
Brittini was born and raised in Utah, but her love for herbs developed while she lived in Brazil. Ironically, it was there that she first became aware of an herbal school back in Utah, The School of Natural Healing, where she later graduated as a Master Herbalist. She has since operated her own herbal practice, worked in several retail health food stores, and worked as an Asyra Biomeridian Tech. Brittini joined the RidgeCrest team in 2008, where she helps in developing formulas, supervising manufacture, and quality assurance. Despite being a great mom to a husband and five children, she has many hobbies and interests, including kayaking, weightlifting, backpacking/camping, trail running, snowboarding, wakeboarding, art, animals, and nature in any form.
Chris Herbert, Chief Sales Officer
Chris also has many years in the health food industry. He managed several health food stores, and owned one of his own in Houston, Texas. Chris was regional sales manager and spokesperson for North American Herb & Spice for five years, where his famous beard became a familiar sight at industry trade shows. We knew Chris for years before he joined RidgeCrest in 2011 to become our Retail Sales Manager. He was appointed Chief Sales Officer in 2017, where he is responsible for all sales to distributors and retail stores. He also manages our Field Guides, who help with retail stores in major markets. Chris lives and works in Austin, Texas, and his spare time is spent with his wife & boys, enjoying nature and playing disc golf.
