Recipe: Warming Winter Tonic


1 inch piece of ginger
1 inch piece of turmeric
1 cinnamon stick
1/2 tsp peppercorns
3 cardamom pods, lightly crushed
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1 star anise pod
1-2 tsp raw ACV(per cup)
1-2 tsp honey (per cup)
Sliced lemon
5 cups filtered water


Bring water to a boil. Add turmeric, cinnamon, peppercorns, cardamom, cayenne, and anise, then reduce heat and simmer for twenty minutes. Remove from heat, let sit for five minutes, then strain. Divide between two large mugs, add apple cider vinegar, honey and a slice of lemon. Sip & enjoy!
