Recipe: Warming Winter Tonic

As winter settles in, our bodies crave warmth and nourishment to stay resilient against the chill. This warming herbal tonic is crafted with ingredients to invigorate, soothe, and fortify from within. With immune-boosting herbs and spices that spark internal warmth, this tonic makes a cozy addition to your winter wellness routine, gently supporting vitality and balance during the colder months.

Ingredients:

  • 1 inch piece of ginger
  • 1 inch piece of turmeric
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 tsp peppercorns
  • 3 cardamom pods, lightly crushed
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 star anise pod
  • 1-2 tsp raw apple cider vinegar (per cup)
  • 1-2 tsp honey (per cup)
  • Sliced lemon
  • 5 cups filtered water

Directions:

Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan. Add turmeric, cinnamon, peppercorns, cardamom, cayenne, and anise, then reduce heat and simmer for twenty minutes.
